James laid in bed still marveling over the fact that he was no longer Princess the Dog, but was now Trisha Roads, a 37-year-old pregnant woman, married to David Roads.
He was grateful to not be Princess any longer. He was sure he was going to spend the rest of his life living in his own hose as a breeding hound. Steve, the man who had done this to him was now living his life and was no engaged. James had watched the whole thing helplessly, but now he was human again, and more importantly he had the medallion.
He knew that the real Trish was now trapped as Princess and as soon as James could come up with a plan, he would try to fix all of this. Return Trisha to her life and find a way to make Steve pay for what he had done.
James had to face the reality that he couldn't do much at the moment while he was in the hospital, but soon they'd release him and he'd try to think of something. The one thing that James couldn't ignore though was that he was pregnant, and with quadruplets. If he'd got pregnant while human this would have been shocking enough, but since he had gotten pregnant while he was still a dog, this was terrifying. He wasn't even sure what he was carrying in his belly was human.
Almost on cue he suddenly felt a sharp, burning pain in his stomach that made his scream out loudly. A nurse rushed in, quickly followed by a number of doctors. The doctors did all they could but over the next hour the doctor's told James that his body had spontaneously aborted all of the fetuses.
One doctor had said something about 'the body just knows when something is wrong and this is why these things can happen".
In many ways James was relived, but in others he did feel the lose. They had been his, in a way, which broke his heart.
When David arrived, he found his wife crying and comforted her as best he could. A Doctor told the David and Trisha that they wanted to keep for the rest of the night for observation, but that she could go home in the morning.
David slept in the chair by the bed, as James lay there thinking of what he was going to do next, until he finally fell asleep.
