Karyn yawned and looked at the clock. It was almost eight in the morning. Normally on days like this when school was off, she slept in, usually until noon. (She joked to Jon that she slept in until 3:30, but she really only did that once.) But today was different. Because of one important thing: the wishing stone. Who could sleep knowing that there was something that could grant wishes? She quickly got dressed and ready for the day, then headed over to Jon's house.
But when she got there, Jon's mom said that he had already left to go see a friend.
Friend? What friend? Karyn wondered. Her first thought was that Jon left to go see her, but he didn't. So who else could he have gone to see?
