Karyn was halfway through her first-period history class when she heard Jon suddenly exclaim in her head. "Duh!"
"What?" Karyn paused as she realized that half the class was looking at her funny, then managed to figure out why.
"Did you not catch that, Miss Donaldson? Then I'll repeat it for you..." The history teacher then went through his entire discussion (monologue) again as half the class groaned and the other half shot Karyn irritated looks. Karyn blushed with a groan and tried to sink into her chair, no one asked questions of this teacher, he always took them the worst way (in the students' minds).
"Sorry..." Jon sounded apologetic for a moment, then went on, "Anyway, since you can't answer me, I'll just tell you what I thought of! We could just wish for the stone to make us know!"
Karyn blinked, that sounded simple enough, so long as she worded it right. Leaning down, trying to look as if she were taking notes in her notebook, she whispered as quietly as she could, "Later."
Jon would have nodded, if he'd had a head. As it was, Karyn could have sworn that her bra had just bounced her breasts up and down slightly, but no more than normal breathing would have done and that was it.
Karyn and Jon then sat and listened (Jon half heartedly and only because he knew he'd be bored out of his mind otherwise) as three other teachers came, droned for a while, and went. And then, finally came lunchtime.
