"Do you think she can make the stone work?" Karyn asked as she stood as still as possible.
"I hope not," Jon answered.
Sarah looked at the shiney stone in her hand marveled at how pretty it was. Her primitive mind couldn't comprehend what was going on. She didn't know where she was, how the strange naked man appeared out of nowhere and why he and the tall skinny woman with the large bumps on her chest kept looking at her. Sarah grunted uncomprehensively.
Karyn and Jon had no idea what she had said, but they had a sinking feeling when Sarah yelped in surprise as the stone grew hot in her hand.
"I've got a bad feeling about this," Jon stated as he waited to see what happened. To his surprise, he didn't notice anything had changed, until he looked at Karyn.
As he looked on, Karyn began to devolve just as Sarah had. In mere seconds, Sarah had slouched forward, her back had widened and bent forward, her arms and legs became more muscular, her forehead sloped back, her jaw jutted forward and her body was covered in dark fur.
The sudden change startled Karyn, because she screeched and jumped around wildly. Karyn didn't know what it was that was wrapped around her waist, but she knew she didn't like it. So she tugged and ripped her now baggy jeans and panties from her body. As soon as she was naked, she started to calm down.
"Oh shit," Jon stated as he watched Karyn amble on her knuckles over to Sarah.
The two girls seemed to be attracted to each other like sisters. They began to grunt softly to each other, obviously talking in some primitive language that Jon couldn't understand.
Not wanting things to get any worse, Jon grabbed up the stone and held it tightly in his hands.
"What am I gonna do now," he said as Karyn and Sarah began to pick things out of their fur and eat them.
As he tried to think of a solution to his current predicament, he noticed the digital camera lying on the floor. "Karyn's gonna kill me for this, but I can't pass this up," he said to himself as he began to snap pictures of the two transformed girls.
Satisfied that he had taken enough pictures, he decided that he had to come up with a solution. Not only because he didn't want his best friend to be a cavegirl all her life, but because time was still frozen and only Karyn could fix it. The real problem was that they had less than an hour before time was stopped forever.
