James whispered forty-five minutes to the magic ring and it gave off another lite glow, then the glow faded. James looked at the ring for a moment and realized that as soon as he slipped it on his finger he would believe he was Lisa, and since he was in her body, no one would question it. Maybe if he crossed paths with the real Lisa in his body, she would, but there really wasn't much chance of that at the moment.
"Well, here goes..." James thought as he slid the ring on the finger of Lisa's right hand.
James felt an instant of panic when he started to have tunnel vision and he felt as if the world were retreating away from him. Terrifyingly his body started moving on its own as his vision continued to retreat. His vision stopped on the clock for a second, and as he felt his own mind 'falling asleep' he heard in his head Lisa's thoughts.
"Got to get Jack's dinner ready, not much time, why am I wasting time it in here..."
James felt his body....Lisa's body...start moving towards the kitchen when he finally blacked out completely.
Just as suddenly as his vision dimmed to nothingness and the world seemed to disappear for James, it started to reappear again. First he hear Lisa's voice in his head, but he could quickly tell that he voice was beginning to fade away.
"Have to hurry....this is the tough part...almost done...." James heard Lisa thinking.
James started the handle of a pan or a pot in hit right hand and a spatula in his left stirring it. As his mind continued to return he tried to make his left hand stop stirring, but it continued under its own volition. James saw a pin point of light in the distance that was suddenly starting to grow larger and soon his tunnel vision had returned and was widening to normal. He was looking down at a frying pan, along with a few pots that seemed to be simmering, and slowly he felt that he was regaining control of his hands. Before he knew what was happening he felt his head turn and Lisa called out, "Dinner will be ready in about 10 minutes". The he heard Lisa's voice in his head fade off into the distance, "next I have to...."
James was once again in control of his body and he nearly dropped the spatula, he had been struggling so hard to move his arm. The kitchen smelled wonderful, what ever Lisa was cooking smelled really good. James looked down at the frying pan and pots, and had no idea of what else needed to be done.
"Lisa had just called out 10 minutes to Jack, but what am I supposed to do with all this?" James thought in a panic. He quickly pulled the ring off and again repeated his instructions about Lisa Hamilton and then did a quick mental tabulation for how long he would need Lisa to be 'awake'. Ten minutes to finish dinner, Thirty or forty to eat and for Jack and Lisa to talk, Jack would then get picked by the shuttle for the airport...James looked around at the mess in the kitchen and decided an extra hour or so for Lisa to clean up. Then he said to the ring "Three hours" and slipped the ring on. As before he felt the world slowly slipping away from him as 'Lisa' started to take over and everything faded to black....
