Just as Zoe finished her wish she felt the stone grow to a mammoth temperature. Zoe immediately threw the rock to the ground as blue smoke steamed from the rock and her entire room was saturated with the blue haze. "(Cough) What is (cough) happening?" Zoe said to herself as the outpouring of smoke finally began to ebb. Zoe looked down to the floor and saw no sign of the stone. "I must have kicked it in the smoke screen," she thought to herself.
When Zoe looked up her eyes met a peculiar sight. There, standing before her was a pink man dressed in green parachute pants with a matching vest and shoes. "Why hello there, who might you be? MC Hammer?" Zoe said laughing at the man's strange appearance.
"My name is Akbar and I am the essence of that stone. I am the stones magical energy and I actually decide how to interpret wishes and to what severity to carry them out." The man continued, "And I am no genie, I am a djinn. Conceptually we are the same but genies are not real and much more submissive to their masters."
"Master? So I like own you?" Zoe asked. Akbar replied, "No, due to the poor wording of your wish I can grant anybody's desire as long as I hear them begin their potential wish with the phrase or something similar to 'I wish'." Zoe looked at Akbar and questioned, "Wait, if that stupid rock did work then what's the difference between you being in the rock or out?" Akbar looked at Zoe astutely, "Well the rock, as absurd as this sounds, acted as an inhibitor. It kept certain aspects of my power in check by instilling among other things a distance regulator keeping the area affected by a wish to a certain degree, but now that I am free almost everything is up for grabs."
"So, care to test out your wishes Zoe?" Akbar asked, "Yes," Zoe replied, "and I know what I'm wishing for, see my ex-boyfriend Derek is a real prick and it would piss him off to see how much better I can do than him. So I wish, that I was more attractive to Paul Harrison, he is the coolest goth kid at school and he works on and writes for the schools poetry magazine."
Akbar looked at Zoe and replied, "Then your desire fulfilled." With that Zoe began to feel tingly. She ran over to a mirror and watched herself begin to change. Her dark black hair began to turn to a dark brown and then to a sandy blond color. "What the fuck?" she said before she realized the changes hadn't concluded yet. She felt her goose bumps spread from her head down to her legs as she felt her body first shrink then her legs each began to grow longer making up the inches she lost in body height and then some. She then noticed her long black dress began to shine and slowly climbed up her legs until it stopped at her mid thigh and was now made of leather.
Zoe looked at Akbar angrily. "So Paul has a thing for leggy blonds huh? Fuck I look like some stupid bimbo cheerleader, at least you only altered
my hair and legs" she said to him. "But I wanted you to change his personality to make him more attracted to me." "Well I had to make the wish how I thought you wanted it," he said, "and this way seemed to be the easiest."
Akbar sat on the edge of Zoe's bed as he watched her admire her new form in the mirror. "So is there anything else we should try, maybe you want to go out somewhere to try to inspire your wishing. I can disguise my physical form to help us blend in, or did you have something else in mind?"
