Zoe smirked to herself, and decided that she could help her friends later. She had her own matters to attend to. Placing the rock back in her hands, she flexed her wings and took flight, in search of Derek Wood.
When she found that Derek wasn't at his house, she made a wish to find out exactly where he was. And sure enough, he was at the mall, trying to get a new girlfriend to replace her. This made Zoe somewhat angry, but she knew that soon, she would have some revenge. She took flight once more, and landed just outside the mall.
Once more, she was surprised by the non-chalant way in which people just ignored the fact that a teenage girl was walking around with giant bat wings. She knew it was because of the nature of the rock, and how it fit reality to match the wishes it granted, but it was still unsettling.
Finally, she ran into Derek, who was working his charm on the local cheeleader at their school. Seeing this made Zoe's blood boil, and her revenge filled mind work overtime to try and find a way to get back at him. Finally, she stumbled across an idea and put it into action.
"I wish that until I say otherwise, Derek and I were the only ones in the mall and that everyone else was back home," she whispered into the rock, and in a flash, everyone was gone except for Derek, who was alone, sipping on a root beer float. He looked up and saw Zoe walking towards him.
"Oh...it's you...." he said nonchalantly. He hadn't wanted to confront her again so soon after their breakup. "I see you got your wings."
"Yeah....but you know," Zoe said with a mischievious grin, "I wish that you knew how exactly I got these wings."
Derek nearly sat up as the information flooded his head. He then looked at Zoe and backed away, when he saw the rock in question in her hands.
"So," Derek said, obviously afraid. He knew Zoe had a temper, and his current situation was horrifying to say the least. "What are you going to do with that rock."
"You'll see." Zoe said with a playful smile, "In fact, I wish that you couldn't leave this place till I'm finished with you."
Derek tried to turn and run, but found himself frozen in place. He desperately tried to move one foot in front of the other, but his legs were now figurative blocks of lead.
"Please Zoe," Derek said, pleading. "I didn't mean to hurt you, I just...."
"Oh I understand," Zoe said with spite filling her voice, "You just like bimbo cheerleaders more than women who have a brain in their heads!" Zoe was no angrier than before, and ready to levy judgement on this guy.
"First off," she said, "I wish that you were completely naked till I'm done with you, I want to get a good look at you." She knew wishes were not reversible, so she started tacking on time limits to non-permanent wishes so that they wouldn't be a problem. She walked a circle around the frightful Derek, taking stock of everything he was. For a teenage boy, he seemed cut out of granite in every department. Zoe knew she could change all that with a single wish, but it was better just to make him suffer through it.
"I wish I could physically or mentally change anyone just by thinking about it," Zoe said, then wishing for a full body mirror. Some of what she wanted to do might take a little clever wording, so it was better to visualize it in her mind and have it happen. She smiled as she pulled up a chair and stared right at Derek, who was now more scared than ever. She folded her wings back into a cloak and commenced with the fun....
