Danny was pretty sure Sarah was playing some weird game with his head - that seemed to be the only plausible explanation - but this sort of oddball play wasn't the sort of thing she usually went in for. Still, there was a quick way to find out.
"I wish you'd give me a great big passionate kiss right out here in the hall," he said, picking something Sarah would never do (namely, publicly kiss a guy who wasn't a rich kid or something).
There was that odd flash again, and Danny blinked and glanced away. When he looked back, he noticed that Sarah was gazing at him with what looked very much like desire.
"S-Sarah, uh,"
"Just so you'll know," she said huskily as she advanced on him, "I don't have any choice in this, and I'm really upset, but get ready for the kiss of your life." And with that, she grasped his head and pulled him down into a long, slow, deep kiss.
Danny's head spun and he sensed a delicate tongue flit across his teeth. Sarah ran her hands through his hair, and she shoved him back against a rock of lockers with a thud! and leaned into him. After a moment, Danny felt her break off the kiss. Trembling with a variety of emotions, he opened his eyes to find Sarah (or maybe it was Jon) glaring at him. "Are you satisfied the stone works now?!" she growled.
"Uh - um, yeah, I guess," Danny said in a daze.
His daze was broken as he heard a babble of voices from all around. He looked over to see a group of other students had surrounded them. The girls were al staring open-mouthed at the sight of the great Sarah McMillan publicly making out with just a common football player - a nobody! The guys were all grinning and hooting; one or two broke into applause.
"We can't talk here," Sarah said. "Come on!" She dragged Danny around a corner and into a deserted band room.
"Okay, fine, you got your jollies, and I can't say I blame you too much, but let's get down to business," Sarah said, setting the tiny statue down in front of her. "I need you to make that wish."
Danny fingered the rock and considered his next move.
