Joan and Karyn left the gym behind, getting used to their new bodies. Everything seemed different, the smells, the sights, everything.

They passed the new statue of Lisa and Richard the geek. Their frozen nude bodies were already splotched with...gifts from the neighborhood pigeons.

"Check it out" Karyn thought to Joan "I think they look good up there."

"Yip."

Karyn sighed as best a dog could. "It's not going to be much fun being a dog if you can't talk. Maybe would should just head back to my place until this wears off? Should be around 9:00 tonight. Bark once for yes."

Joan thought about it a moment. She wouldn't mind doing some exploring as a dog, but Karyn was right, it wouldn't be much fun if she couldn't talk. She had the stone, but couldn't speak to make a wish. "Yap."

"Okay, we can always try this again sometime with the rock." Karyn said.

"Yip." Joan replied.

They walked along for a while, Karyn would occasionally make an comment, but otherwise they walked in silence. They both failed to notice a van following them. And were caught completely surprised when a loop a rope went over Joan's head. She dropped the stone in surprise.

"Joan!" Karyn shouted. She whirled around and saw a dogcatcher holding the pole with the loop around her neck.

Everything happened so quickly Joan didn't have chance to react. Before she knew what was going on she found herself in the back of a dogcatcher's van. She stood and tried to get her bearings when Karyn was abruptly thrust in beside her.

"Yip! yip! yip!" Joan barked, which is losely translated to: "Karyn! What happened to the stone?"
