"I wished that your room was neater," said Jon's mom. "I mean, you've never been too good about putting your stuff away, so I... Never mind."

Which of course was as big a lie as it was last time.

Jon's mother left and quickly made another wish. She could do it again, of course. But there was no need to make the same mistakes as last time.

"I wish that I would have a son named Jon and that Jon, Janice, and Jen would be triplets, Janice and Jen being identical and Jon being almost identical except that he's a boy. I also wish that Jon would have the same personality, hopes and dreams that Jen and Janice had before becoming girls. Finally, I wish that all the triplets feel very close to each other, that they're all friends with Karyn, and they're all as popular as the twins were before I made these wishes."

That seemed good.

Jon's mother opened the door again and looked in. The room was a larger than before, and she saw Karyn, Jon, Janice, and Jen all sitting there. She closed the door and made one last wish: "I wish that I knew all I needed to know to act as if I always had had triplets." Then she opened the door and said "Kids?"

The identical girls and near-identical boy all replied "Mom?"

"This is yours," she said and tossed the stone towards them. Janice caught it.

"What was that about?" wondered Jen. Mom was acting a little strangely.

"I don't know," said Jon. "But we do have the stone, right? We could find out."

"Sure," said Janice. "Or we can do what we were discussing before. I wish...."
