The next class was trigonometry. It wasn't anything that would particularly be a problem, except for the problems caused by Jon's condition, of course. Jon's clothes were unisex, but her figure and face were very obviously those of a girl. Her hair was the same short hair she had as a boy, but long hair has nothing to do with female biology at all. It just made her look butch. Anyone who looked at her and wasn't expecting Jon (as everyone was expecting in the morning) would see a girl.
So it wasn't unexpected that Adam stared at her several times during the class. And neither was it unexpected when, after the bell rang, Adam asked him, "Jon, would-- would you like to go out with me? Since you're a girl, I mean?"
