Jon's mother smirked at him but before he or Karyn could escape, she said, "Jon, I wish you and Karyn would go up to your room and stay there until I come up and give you permission to leave."
"Mother!" protested Jon as he and Karyn began walking toward his room. "Please don't do anything! Wishes can't be undone!" Finally out of site of his mother, Jon resigned himself to being trapped in his room with Karyn for a while.
"At least I'm stuck with someone to talk to."
"What do you think your mom is going to do?" Karyn was worried.
"I don't know, probably turn me into the perfect son or something."
"That would suck." Karyn paused when they got to the top of the stairs and felt a chill run up her spine. "Did you feel that?"
"Yeah, our house has a definite draft. I wish mom would get it taken care of."
"Well, even if she wishes for you to be perfect, it could be worse."
"How?"
Karyn grinned mischeviously and replied, "She could wish for you to be a boy!"
"That would be horrible!" Jon whined and plopped down on her bed, grabbing her stuffed teddy bear. "I mean, ewww!"
