"Wait, what about me?" Jon asked. "I'm not female..."
Sonia looked at him sadly. "I thought they would spare you because you were a child... but by their laws... Jon, you're not safe as a male. You need to wish yourself into a girl."
"What?! I can't do that!" Jon cried.
"It must be done," she said firmly. "It is the only way to ensure your safety. Jon, I'm sorry..."
"Screw sorry! And screw you!" Jon ran over to the dresser. "If I were you, I'd get the hell out of here right now," he said dangerously. He wasn't sure if this was his grandfather or not, but she sure as hell wasn't going to convince him to turn himself into a girl!
Sonia sighed. "Very well, Jon, if that is what you 'wish.'" She turned and walked out the door, and continued out of the house. When she was several blocks away, she whispered to the air, "I have done as you asked."
She listened for the overlapping voices no man could hear. "No, he has not."
She listened for a while. "Very well. I suppose it is for the best." She knew the next few days would not be easy on Jon, but she knew it was in for his best interests.
