When Jon awoke, he heard a man's voice saying, "it's all right, just take it easy, you'll be OK."
As consciousness began to creep back, Jon realized that Karyn's parents must be in the room with them. Jon briefly wondered what they must think of the way that they were dressed, then thought back to his last image of Karyn. Was she OK? Remembering the scene on the floor. he saught for the rock, finding it just beside his hand. Clutching it as tightly as his weakened condition would allow, he wished out loud, "I wish that Karyn & I would be in perfect physical health."
There was the usual flash to signify a change, then the next sound was from Karyn's mother, "What is going on here?"
Being surprisingly quick on the uptake, Karyn fairly screamed, "it's the rock, get the rock from him Daddy!"
Karyn's father snatched the rock from the recovered Jon's feminized hand.
With a snide look on her face, Karyn teased Jon by saying, "Well Jon, why don't you tell Mum & Dad what is going on here?"
Jon considered doing just that. He also considered telling a series of quick lies in order to get the rock back in his possession. But then inspiration hit and he realized that he didn't have to say anything, all he had to do was order Karyn to tell them the truth and she would have to. So that is what he did.
Karyn explained about the rock's power, about how the clothing stuff had gotten out of control and how they had come to be unconscious on the floor of her bedroom.
Staring at the two strangely attired teens, Karyn's Dad, Edward, said in a hushed voice, "You have got to be kidding! How can we be expected to believe that garbage? I mean, I can see how you both are dressed, and I can see that Karyn can't move her limbs, but a wishing stone? Seriously, I wish we could believe you."
