The sales clerk picked up the first item, the package of tampons and shouted out, "Hey Bill, I need a price check on o.b. Tampons in the twenty pack."
Jennifer was sure that she was about to die of embarrassment. She was sure that things couldn't get any worse.
"What size box of tampons?" A voice (Bill's) shouted from the back of the store.
"Twenty count of o.b. Tampons." The clerk shouted back.
By now Jennifer was sure that she was glowing bright red due to her embarrassment.
"The twenty count of o.b. Tampons is $3.99."
It was all Jennifer could do not to run from the store. 'I had no idea that girls had such a hard time.'
When at last the embarrassment was over, Jennifer made her escape and made it home.
Once she was home, and back in her room Jennifer let out a sigh of relief. 'I survived that.' She thought.
Jennifer had calmed down enough that when Karyn called, she didn't demand to be turned back into a boy. The two talked for over an hour and Jennifer felt closer to Karyn than Jon ever had.
After dinner Jennifer prepared for her date with Roy.
