While Jon was failing to live up to his new princessly role, and Karyn was nursing her inaugural hangover, a shop at the Lake Point Mall winked out of existence.
This was nothing out of the ordinary. The shop did this all the time. Breaking the laws of time and space allowed for a broad customer base. But as the Wizard/Proprietor made sure that everything made the transit to No-Where intact, he was halted by the sudden realization that he'd forgotten something. Oh yes. Those two that had rented the bookmark. He'd forgotten to explain that time was very nearly frozen in respect to their homeworld while they were in the fictional one. Or the keywords to actually leave said fictional world. As well as...several other complications they'd likely have wanted to hear about in regards to the magical mechanics of the thing.
Oh well, caveat emptor. He could always get it back later, less a couple of repeat customers. And he did promise them a vacation like no other. If they're no longer the people they were by the end of it, well, that just meant he'd spoken more earnestly than they'd guessed.
