"Wow. Now it's my turn to be speechless," Karyn said, duly impressed, "Last night it seemed like I'd scared you off. Why the change of heart?"
"I guess I just had to put things into perspective. You were showing so much trust in me, and the more I thought about it, the more I realized it was mutual. I don't trust anyone more than I trust you, and frankly this giddiness you've been giving off is infectious. It's hard not to get a little swept away by you, and the more I think about it, the more I like it."
Karyn laughed, blushing.
"So the boy next door gets his own little speech, does he? Bravo. Floored me, but I guess I deserve it for springing this on you. Only one little thing left now," she said, drawing Jon close to her.
Before Jon could react, he felt Karyn's breath on his neck, followed by a sharp pain as his newfound girlfriend gave him the hickie from hell. He yelped, and she backed away grinning puckishly as she licked his blood from her distended canines just before allowing them to retract back into human teeth.
"What was that for?"
"Easier this way, while I'm not, you know, actively wolfing out. Don't be such a baby, it's already healed anyway. I'm off to shower," Karyn said with a wink before heading up the stairs, "Ta-ta!"
Jon clutched his neck as the most frustrating, confusing, and wonderful girl in his life sauntered up the stairs with a curious sway of her hips. He had to laugh. Then, he began to think of how that day would be, and the night that followed...
