Karyn had held Jon's hand the whole way home. Jon was all too happy to return the favor. Though neither of them said it out loud, both had kind of hoped for it, and congratulated themselves on their own smooth moves.

They made a beeline for the kitchen for snacks after getting in. Jon opened the fridge and looked to Karyn.

"Get you anything?"

"Steak, raw."

Jon gulped and replied nervously, "Er, okay. Should I chop it up?"

"Jeez, Jon, you're such a straigh man sometimes! I was kidding! A pudding cup would be great. See, this is why we need to talk!"

Jon chuckled nervously and inwardly kicked himself as he pulled out two pudding cups.

"Chocolate okay?"

"Hasn't it always been?"

"True, true," he said as he fetched two spoons and made his way to the game room where they would usually hang out, tossing Karyn her cup and spoon.

Karyn slumped down into a bean bag chair and peeled the foil from her pudding cup. She seemed introspective for a moment, pausing.

"What?"

"Your sister is the most foul-mouthed elf I've ever heard."

"You can hear her up there?"

"Sure I can. Goes something like 'Te audire no possum... Musa sapientum fixa est in aure...shit bugger fuck damn!'"

They both erupted in laughter.

"That's my sister alright. She must be working on the hex, and making a few mistakes."

"Sounds about right."

"So..."

"So...where do we start?"

"How about at the beginning. First, Jon, loosen up. We grew up together. We played crazy dizzy merry-go-round games until we puked. Hell, our mothers even had us take baths together."

Jon suppressed a snicker, and replied, "Well, yeah, but that was before."

"Before what? Before I was a werewolf? Before I traded in the overalls for the occasional skirt? Before you noticed these?"

Karyn pushed up her breasts with her hands for emphasis.

"Er, all of the above?"

"Get over it, boy-next-door. Get it through your noggin now, I'm still Karyn. Even with this latest development. This is me."

Jon nodded, still a little shellshocked by his best friend's frankness. He was about to speak when fur crept over Karyn's skin and her hair cascaded down into a mane that was long enough to touch the floor. The girl before him looked not unlike a feminine version of Teen Wolf.

"This is me too, Jon, so let's talk..."
