"I was a frumpy little pudgy... no, fat, girl once. I only have this sexy body because I stopped complaining, stopped being a victim and whining about how terrible my life was and I actually did something about it."
The revelation startled Allison. Jenna? A frumpy pudgy, possible fat girl that no one notices? No...
Jenna's smile softened to one of caring and love. She had been there before, so she did care. She could just see clearly now when other women were stuck in the same position she was before, hating life and hating other women that seemed to have it all. Sure Allison puts up a nice and friendly front, Jenna did too back then. But the pain inside was well hidden from anyone and everyone. "Look Allison, I know how it feels to feel unwanted, hating how you look, and hating your life because you try so hard and never get noticed."
Allison's emerald green eyes were welling up with tears now "I never said I hated myself." she said defensively
"Of course not, but you think it all the time don't you? I've seen the looks you've given me before when I've been having a friendly chat with some of the guys around here. And like I said..." Jenna continued as she opened her purse and pulled a picture out of her wallet. "I've been there before."
Allison was shocked at the person Jenna showed her. It was like a different person, but through the face you could clearly see Jenna's features. She had to have been around 250 pounds at the time of the picture. She was surrounded by some friends who appeared to be having a good time. Jenna's smile in the picture however looked forced, as if she was putting on a happy face. "Wow... Jenna this is you? But... it's incredible. You've got such an amazing body now. Wow I can't believe it!"
"Believe it sister! And believe that just as I accomplished this..." Jenna said waving her hands at her body "So can you!"
"But you don't understand! I have tried! I have worked out, I have dieted! I wish I did have a body like yours that men would drool all over. But look at me... I've tried..." tears flowed freely as Allison began to break down.
Gently Jenna put her arm around Allison to console her. "Hey, maybe you just need someone to show you how and help you along the way? There is a beautiful girl inside you, I know it! We just have to show the rest of those fools what's already there."
"Would you help me? I mean you're right, I've been so awful to myself. I think I do need someone to help." Allison smiled hesitatingly at Jenna. She had talked bad about Jenna before, and she was completely blown away by Jenna's true character. She felt very guilty about times she'd talked about Jenna behind her back with the other girls. "I'm sorry about some of the things I may have said... I was so wrong. Forgive me?"
"Of course, and yes, I'd be glad to help you." And with a smile, Jenna, the new link wisher, led Allison out of the break room back to her desk where they could talk about her options and make plans.
