Mikey was about to go back to his game when he heard his mom stop in the hall and come back towards his room. "What now?" Mikey grumbled to himself.
Linda opened the door and said, "You know what? Lets forget about the chores. We can do them later, and I've been dying to play Halo all day long! Let me play some co-op with you and I won't make you clean!"
Mikey smiled. This had worked out great. Then he simply replied, "Sure, Mom, have a seat!" Mikey's grin widened as he watched his mom, still in her business suit, plop down on the floor next to him and grab a controller. Almost five hours later, Mikey heard a knock at his door. He paused the game and he and Linda (who had only moved to go to the bathroom since starting to play) turned to see who it was.
Jon stood at the door and said, "Hey, guys I just got home. Are we having dinner tonight?"
Linda blushed and said, "Oh my, I completely lost track of the time. I'll order us a pizza." With that, she turned off her controller and quickly hurried to call Pizza Hut.
Jon turned back to his room, and Mikey could hear him looking for something in his room. Then Mikey heard his brother say, "Damn it, what happened to it."
Mikey knew he should return the stone, but he wanted to have a little more fun with it first. So he decided to keep it just a few days. "I wish that Jon would give up looking for the stone and figure it will turn up in a few days. I wish he wouldn't suspect anyone had taken it."
Jon stopped looking for the stone. Mikey saved his game and left his room to see what the evening brought.
