Flipping the box open, a shower of confetti poured out, the stone sitting in a nest of the remaining confetti.
What the hell thought Jon, inspecting one of the flecks of yellowed paper, finding a cursive J written on one side. "Oh crap, grandpa's letter!"
This was just a distraction, once he'd fixed his earlier wish the letter being shredded wouldn't be an issue.
Pinching into the box, he plucked out the stone and held it in his palm, but it felt different. Flipping it over, he saw half of it was now missing, the new flat side featuring an ornate zig-zag spiral groove.
"This better still work" he whispered, clutching his hand around the stone.
Before he knew it he was making a wish, though the though of the damaged stone was in the front of his mind.
"I wish I had the other half of the wishing stone here" he spoke.
Everything went dark, and Jon suddenly had the sensation of floating, then the feeling of falling, before blacking out.
As he regained consciousness, Jon felt the soft carpet beneath him, a numbness still washing over his body.
Sitting himself up he leant back against what he figured to be a wall, rubbing his eyes. The numbness starting to fade, he looked around, this was definitely not his bedroom, he wasn't even sure who's it was.
The numbness finally faded, allowing Jon to feel a tightness on his chest. Turning his vision down on himself his eyes went wide.
oh fuck... was all he could think, a panic setting in.
Greeting his eyes was cleavage, two orbs held within a light blue tank top. Beyond them, the skirt and tights he'd donned earlier.
fuckfuckfuck this isn't what I wished for he began panicking, scrunching his eyes closed and covering his face with his hands.
Though what Jon didn't realise is this was exactly what he'd wished for, with the half-stone. The first half of his wish, 'I wish I had the other half', had made him Ashley.
