Officer Chase grabbed her gun and sprinted towards the locker room, where another officer said he saw Lydia enter a few minutes before.
At the doorway leading into the room, she stopped suddenly, seeing an officer's body lying across the floor. He wasn't moving and was probably dead.
She slowly approached the downed officer, just making sure that he was in fact dead, when suddenly she heard the cocking of a gun directly behind her.
"Don't you move, missy." It was Lydia Harrison. And from the sound of it, she had a gun pointed at the back of Officer Chase's head. "Now, put that there weapon down," Lydia said, with a bit of a southern drawl.
Officer Chase tossed her weapon on the floor. "You'll never get away with this."
"Oh, but I'm already gettin' away with it, missy." Lydia then moved up close and cupped one of her hands over the officer's chest, grabbing a feel of her breasts under her uniform. Then she sniffed her. "Mmm. You smell nice, missy. It'd be a shame to kill someone who smells so nice."
Officer Chase was then greeted to a moment of silence. She wondered what Lydia was doing. She could still hear her breathing, so she was still definitely behind her. After some quick thought, she figured that Lydia was thinking over what to do with her. Officer Chase prayed that Lydia would choose to not kill her, even though Lydia's reputation was of the opposite.
Then her answer came with a thump to the back of her head, as Lydia decided to just knock her out.
And shortly after that, Lydia Harrison escaped from the police station. She was a fugitive.
Meanwhile, Officer Maybourn was letting Brick out of jail. He had no idea who put him in there, since he obviously wasn't a criminal. But he was going to find out.
And not knowing who he was, former hardened criminal Brick then left the police station in search of a new identity.
