After only five minutes into her second period class (P.E.), Rose got severely hurt. She had no idea what happened. She was playing basketball, just like she was the previous day, when suddenly she fell to the floor in mortal pain. The P.E. teacher ran over to her and did a spot inspection, determining that she had dislocated something. She didn't know how that could happen. She was a linebacker on the high school football team. She was one of the strongest women in school. How could this happen to her during a lazy game of just shooting hoops? She was barely even moving around!

"You have to go to the nurse's office," the teacher said.

"Nurse's office?" Rose said. "But I'm fine. I ..." She tried to stand up, but after she felt the stabbing pain, she stopped.

"You are definitely not fine." The teacher turned towards another student. As a matter of fact, it was Danny Foster, the guy who was asking Rose about Zoe Farber's party that weekend. "Danny, help him get there."

And a minute later, Danny was helping Rose through the hall. Neither of them noticed that Rose's body became less frail, or the fact that her hair began to become less gray and more brown.

"Man, how could this happen to me?" Rose asked Danny. "No way is the coach gonna let me play now."
