Michelle had just left the office when June's secretary, Sarah Nygen, called out to her. "I'm sorry, Ms. Casey, but your sister says this is yours," she said, handing Michelle a small stone.
Michelle didn't see anything special about the rock, and it certainly didn't belong to her, but she held onto it anyway as she exited the school. As she passed, Michelle glimpsed into the various classrooms. In one classroom Derica Warren was teaching her class, now almost identical to the former Ms. Warren. The only differences were a few slightly different facial features, though Derica's face was just as feminine as Lydia's was, and her hair, which Derica kept in a rounded bob.
As she headed into the parking lot, Michelle noticed the fourth grade class return from their field trip. Herding them in was Richelle Donaldson, who was now a fairly attractive thirty five year old with golden hair that reached her calves even when she folded it over itself. Making her way to her car, Michelle tried to think of her best route to work.
She sighed, realizing the rock was still in her hand. She had best get rid of it. Emilio would be expecting her, as she was the center point of next's shift show. And yet something was nagging at Michelle, some unnameable desire that twisted in her gut. She felt the sudden urge to try to put words to her feeling, and so the slightest of whispers escaped Michelle's scarlet lips. "I wish..."
