A door slammed behind Mikey. He turned around to see Dr. Nakahashi, clearly still a middle-aged Asian male, in a pink blouse, blue jeans, and sandals walking out of what was once Tiffany's house.
Under different circumstances, Mikey would have laughed at Dr. Nakahashi. But now he just felt dread. He didn't know Dr. Nakahashi, but he knew how Dr. Nakahashi would end up ... just like Jon. Tiffany stopped in the middle of the sidewalk. The sound of her front door had somehow caught her attention. Her trance didn't cancel out all external stimuli - merely those that were irrelevant for transformations. She took off her backpack, laying it on her front lawn. She also put down her handbag.
