"Speaking of wishes... Remember the stone?"

"Yeah, I do. I want to talk a bit about that. Because I think that...that thing might need to be sealed up somewhere eventually."

"Why do you say that!?" Jonatha raised his voice.

"Well, this might not make sense to you, since only people that hear the wish remember things as they were before it. On Thursday, after the whole basketball brawl—" Nicole was suddenly interrupted by the waiter bringing out their dinners. The two eagerly began eating.

"Yeah?"

"Well, we were summoned to a mediation session. Ash Miller made this wish for everyone to just get along and it collapsed the two towns into one," Nicole explained between bites of chicken marsala. "I just happened to have the stone with me and out of frustration, she said those magic two words..."

"Well, wishes can't be undone. And clearly, ever since Tuesday morning, reality's been...having some problems," Jonatha concurred. "The fact that Lake Point and Mount Valley—"

"Wait! How? How do you remember and not be in that room?" By this point, Nicole had figured out that wishes were only remembered if they had been heard. Jonatha was most certainly not in that conference room.

"...Because in that moment, even though nobody noticed, Sam Gomez was on her phone and accidentally dialed me. I answered the call and I must have wound up hearing the whole thing. After what I experienced on Wednesday, though, I wasn't too surprised."

"Oh?"

"I went to the mall and got this dress," Jonatha began, pulling some of the dress fabric to demonstrate. "Buffie, Nessa and Jade were all there too. And it was just...weird. We saw people change right before our eyes. And not just people, but signs." Nicole stared at Jonatha, speechless, her jaw a little slack. "I knew Buffie didn't know any other world when he didn't know what a Mrs. was. He saw the changing happen, too."

"Yeah, Jonatha, that stone is a little too powerful—honestly, too powerful for either of us. But if we're stuck here, I want to make one more wish, for all of our sakes."

"What's that, Nicole?" he said, having nearly finished off the grilled chicken breast. She reached in her pocket for the familiar stone.

"I wish that those of us that remember the other world also had our memories from this world," she whispered so that Jonatha could hear and nobody else in the restaurant could. "So we're not out of the loop."

Jonatha nodded in understanding. "Good idea."

"Now, I understand that this is a family heirloom, so I will give it back to you, but..."

"But what?"

"I strongly suggest no more wishes and putting it in a safe place. Who knows if something you say around that rock turns into the end of us all. And if you throw it away, we could have the same problem."

Jonatha almost wanted to fight the idea. But having attempted to fight Nicole, he knew he had no other option. If this stone gets in someone else's hands, who knows what we're in for. He nodded in understanding.
