Former police lieutenant Alice Slade finally ended her night long trek, entering a small house by the back door. She walked mindlessly past the house's only occupant - a young woman, who dressed rather tomboyishly despite a large pair of breasts and luxurious blond hair. She was talking on the phone at the moment.

She entered a bedroom, stripping down and pulling on a green jumper and jeans. She blinked, coming out of her trance. She walked back to her living room, which Karyn had suddenly exited, and picked up the phone. "Hey Nick? Just hang on. I'll be right there," she said.

"Alright, but I'm starting to get really worried," her best friend said on the other end, not completely male. "I mean, what if the stone were to fall into some nut job's hands, and they were to completely rearrange the order of the universe?"

"Don't worry. We'll find it before then. Just hold back until I get there." Alice hung up the phone, and headed towards the Madison residence.

Lieutenant Sarah Slade took another swig of coffee as she stared down at the various files on her desk. Sarah had aged a bit, to around twenty-eight years, though she was still a couple off from the wish's target. Her hair had also darkened slightly, now a very dirty blond, and was pulled back into a ponytail as usual.

Officer Murphy entered the room, rolling his eyes when he saw Sarah still sitting there. "Ah. Right where I left you," he said wryly, walking over to his superior's desk. "So which investigation is bothering you now?"

"Those girls we arrested last night for the cocaine," she explained. "The case should be fairly open and shut, Call, and the Chief just wants to charge them with the worst possible crimes he can."

"But it's not just open and closed, or you would have found another case to pour over all night," Murphy stated.

Sara shook her head. "There are just some pieces that don't make any sense. Cocaine we found, for one thing. They were all exact half balls, which means the girls didn't get into them at all. When was the last time you heard of an addict getting a new batch and not enjoying a little? Yet their test claim they were tripping balls all last night, which means they got into a completely separate batch of coke and left their personal stores untouched. What's even stranger is I can't trace the source for the life of me. The guys in Narcotics know the coke came from none of the major players in the area, though those idiots also seem to think it originated from somewhere in France."

"I see. Where are those three now?" Murphy asked.

"Still in holding cells. One of them keeps cussing off the camera but the other two seem to have settled down ... Wait a fucking second. Look at their toxicology results. She handed the files to Murphy, who looked them over.

"They seem to be pretty damning, by all accounts," he said. "The girls must have worked up quite an immunity if they had this much in their bloodstreams and were acting that normally last night. Well, normal for teenage Goth girls, I suppose."

"No, not that! Look at that girl Jayne's statistics!"

Murphy flipped to her report, scanning it over. "It says she's six foot eight and over two hundred pounds. Isn't she she smallest of the bunch?"

"Exactly? So why would they mess that up?"

"A typo maybe."

"On two places in such a dramatic manner? No, the person typing this up would have had to have a very specific seizure for that. It would look more like the person took an old file, and just retyped the information to match the girl."

"You're saying someone falsified the toxicology test?" Murphy asked incredulously. Perhaps Sarah had missed a little too much sleep.

"Not sure, but my gut tells me something's wrong here, and I intend to find out what," Lieutenant Slade announced, standing and making her way towards the crime lab. Rolling his eyes, the taller officer followed her, wondering who she would accuse of corruption first.
