When Zelda was out, flashes of memories flew through her mind. Memories of her running around a track and then off the track and into someone's house. Pictures on the walls indicated that the house, and eventually the bedroom she entered, belonged to Lucy Corinth.

She saw herself stripping off all of her beloved cybergoth clothes and replacing them with Lucy's clothes. Then she saw herself running back to school, making it back just before the school dismissal bell rang. She saw herself waiting in anticipation for her friends. Zelda knew what that was like. But these were different friends.

Zelda saw Zoe leaving the building. She was dressed just like Tiffany Sanders, but didn't look too much like her, yet. Along with Zoe was Sarah McMillan. Normally, Zoe and Sarah hated each other. But not now. Now, they were best of friends. Zelda felt sick, watching these memories unfold, but didn't wake up. Not yet.

More memories flashed through her mind. Memories of her and Zoe driving to the mall and accidentally hitting a car in front of them. Zoe and the other driver (who looked a lot like Zoe's brother Jon, although definitely more female ... and Goth) had a confrontation, but before it got violent, the female-like Jon's friends pulled him back, and they drove off.

Zelda remembered Zoe planning and scheming to destroy those Goths' lives. It turned Zelda's gut to see Zoe (of all people) to want to see harm come to Goths. Maybe they weren't supposed to be Goths, but at the moment they were as genuine Goths as you could get.

She remembered Zoe calling the parents of the Goths and telling them that they hit her car and then went off clubbing and then to a rock concert. Zelda briefly wondered which concert it was, before more memories flashed across her mind.

When Zoe's plan fell through, she decided to go with a bigger, more daring plan. This one would involve more people than just herself. Five people, to be exact. But she needed to find people she could trust, so she contacted Mikey Lisle, Gladys O'Brien, and Sarah McMillan.

Later, after shopping a bit at the mall, the five "popular" girls set their revenge in motion, planting cocaine in Linda DeVries' car (Zelda was definitely sure now that Linda used to be Zoe's mom) and two other strategically-sound places.

Zelda remembered being overjoyed at the fact that she helped to bring those freaks down. Ugh. Zelda felt ill again, knowing that she had such feelings towards fellow Goths.

The last memory that flew through her mind was of herself and Burt McMillan (yes, she did notice that sometime between the start of the operation and this memory, her father had taken the place of Sarah McMillan - but why was it happening; what was causing it?). They were breaking into the DeVries house and doing something to Linda's computer. Probably planting more evidence.

And there, on the shelf, in a coffee mug. It was the pendant. Athena's pendant. Zelda remembered picking it up and taking it with her. After she got home, she fixed the broken chain and then wore it.

And that's when she started noticing that things were different.

It was the pendant. The pendant was ...

"Zelda?"

She opened her eyes and looked up at Zoe. It pained her to see her friend like this. It pained her even more knowing that Zoe had no clue that she had changed.

Zelda's "new" friends helped her to her feet.

"Like, are you okay?" Burt asked.
