Lucy's eyes narrowed at the Zelda. "The only thing weird going on is you showing up here after what you and your friends did to Linda, Jayne, and Joni."
"And what exactly did me and my friends do?" Zelda asked, not bothering to ask who exactly she was talking about. Wasn't Zoe's mom named Linda?
"Don't play coy, here," Christine said, as she and her sister circled Zelda like pair of vultures.
Zelda clenched her fists, grinding her teeth in frustration. Would anybody tell her what is going on here? "Look, the past couple days have kind of been a blur for me, and when I came to everything is... wrong. Look, maybe we could help each other. You tell me what has been going on here, and maybe I can help your friends.
Lucy remained suspicious of the girl. What game was she playing? Were Zoe and her gaggle really that concerned how much she and the twins knew? Joni had told her that Zelda was, in her words, 'the stupidest fucking bitch ever,' but that doesn't mean she couldn't be doing something on the behest of one of her less idiotic friends. What was she trying to pull. "Okay," Lucy said, "Let's say we believe you."
"Which we don't," the twins said in unison.
"...and we tell you what's happened since what, Friday morning?"
"Afternoon, I remember the first half pretty well," Zelda said.
"Then what? What sort of help can you offer?"
Zelda chewed on her bottom lip, almost gagging at the taste of her bubble gum lip gloss. So it would seem that people are taking on other people's lives, becoming almost exactly like them both mentally and physically, like Zoe taking over Tiffany's and Lucy filling Agatha's role. That means she must have been acting like Lucy during the interim. That certainly would explain her get up and the few flashes of fuzzy memories Zelda had. But what had caused her to snap out of it? Zelda touched the pendant around her neck, and she knew. Of course! The pendant was the only thing around her when she woke up out of place in Lucy's world, and it had once belonged to Athena, who was into all sorts of mystical stuff like that. But then what had caused all of this? Obviously this was affecting at least the entire town, if not an even larger radius. "I...you said Me and Burt broke into the DeVries' house. Did you know what we did there?" Other than nab the pendant, apparently, Zelda thought to herself.
Lucy hesitated a moment, then decided that Zoe must have already suspected them of being on to her if she sent Zelda, so there was really no harm in telling. "Something to do with her computer. Deleted something, Installed something, we don't know. All we do know is it will probably not help Linda or the other two."
Zelda allowed herself a small smile. If there was one thing she did know, it was computers. "Perhaps I can be of service with that?"
