"Hey guys," Zelda said, walking towards Jon and Athena. Zelda Whitefield was Zoe's other friend. And she was as different to Athena as Athena was to Zoe. Zelda was a cybergoth, the only one at school, and she liked to dye her hair blue or green or whatever and dress in latex bodysuits. It was her style and she didn't care what people thought of her.
"Hi, Zelda," Jon said.
While Zelda met up with them, Athena scanned the school grounds to see if anyone else looked different or out of place. And just a moment later, she found someone.
"Are you coming?" Jon asked Athena.
She turned and looked at him, and then at Zelda. It was still hard to believe that Zelda thought it was completely normal for Jon to be dressed that way or that Zelda was even friends with him. But magic sometimes did that. It was a good way of pulling the wool over people's eyes. And this was definitely some thick wool.
"No, you go on," Athena answered.
Jon shrugged his shoulders, then he and Zelda walked into the school, leaving Athena alone.
She sat down in the grass and watched as a young woman in a muscle shirt, that was obviously too big for her, walked towards the school. At some instances, Athena could see her breasts under the shirt. The woman wasn't wearing a bra!
Athena watched as the woman walked over to Sarah McMillan, of all people, and embraced her. Then they kissed. Athena couldn't believe what she was seeing.
Then something else grabbed her attention. It was Biff Meadows, the biggest jock in school. But he didn't look like a jock now. He wore a tight navy blue T-shirt, tight jeans with a studded belt, and worn sneakers. His short hair was combed in a potential emo style. And he was even wearing black eyeliner. Biff looked like an emo boy.
He walked past Athena, with his head hung low, and went into the school. Biff was one of the most popular guys at school, yet no one noticed how different he looked. It was as if he was supposed to be an emo.
Something Athena just realized was that the young woman that kissed Sarah was wearing clothes similar to Biff's. She didn't even make the connection until she saw Biff looking different himself. It was almost as if the woman took Biff's place, and then Biff took Derek's place (Derek Lettman was the only emo at school). And the same thing must have happened to Jon and Zoe. Jon took Zoe's place and then Zoe took another person's place.
But what was the point? All of this required some heavy magic, so it couldn't have been something that was done on a whim. There must have been a reason for it.
