Karyn's face had gone blank. For several moments, she said nothing.
"Karyn? What's wrong?" Jon thought he knew the answer, but he dreaded hearing it nonetheless. His heart was a cacophony in his chest.
"I wished the effects of the transformation gun would wear off. But my face is still a pig's." She said quietly. She seemed to be talking to herself more than him. A three fingered hand began slowly feeling exploring her face, her snout, her lips, her ears. "He used the gun the first time. I remember. But-"
"Karyn?"
She either didn't hear him, or didn't care enough to respond. "He didn't use the gun for the rest. He wasn't here, he couldn't have. He used the stone." She murmured. "I wish Karyn was half pig. I wish everyone but her, Jon, and me would see her as a pig." She recited slowly, precisely.
Jon was frozen. She looked at him. He flinched, and turned his eyes towards the ground. He couldn't bare to meet her gaze.
"He used the stone." She continued. "I can't contradict a wish. I can't go back. My parents won't know me. I can't go home. Everyone thinks I'm an animal." Her voice was utterly emotionless.
"Karyn. He said half pig. Maybe there's a way to reinterpret-"
"No. There isn't. I could make myself some kind of pig centaur. Or a pig from the waist up. But what would that accomplish? If I had the head of a pig, would I have a pig's mind? How could I walk on a pig's legs? No." She closed her eyes tight.
"Karyn, there has to be a way! We can figure this out!" Jon almost pleaded.
"I have nowhere to go. No one knows me but you. I have no way to be a person again."
"Please, Karyn, come home with me. It's been a long night, we're both exhausted. We can rest and then look at this again and see what we have to do to fix it with fresh minds."
"I can't. I'm a pig, remember? Your parents would just call animal control again."
"Karyn, please..." Jon was starting to hyperventilate.
"There is one way." Her voice was so small now, so weak. "I wish..."
