"You guys have a fight or something?" Jo covered her interest by asking as she switched channels when a commercial popped up.
"I guess," Mikey finished typing something on his phone and pushed send, "Mom know if it's a boy or a girl yet?"
"Hmm? Oh, yeah, it's a boy," Jo said with a trace of bitterness. She didn't let that or Mikey's change of subject distract her, trying to steer things back to Karyn, "She said she would have trouble finding a new babysitter as good as Karyn was."
"Where's Zoe?" Mikey made a show of looking around the living room like their sister was hiding or something. The wishes hadn't affected Zoe all that much. She was still some weird blend of Princess Dracula and Sylvia Plath. She was still rebellious and pissed off at the world too, except now she had Jo to resent since it was their mother's affair with Damon and Jo's subsequent birth that "made Dad leave."
