Jon was dreading Mikey's choice for a good reason, it seems. Mikey stood Jon up on the bed and squeezed him into the wedding dress, thankfully not putting the heels on him, but still arranging the veil on his head. The mirror in Mikey's room showed a ridiculous sight as Mikey set him down on the floor to walk: what appeared to be a doll walking across the room in a fancy wedding dress.
As he got closer to the mirror, he could make out his features, and would have admired the exquisite detail in it had it not been rubbing painfully against him. That fabric was not made for human skin. He jumped as he heard Mikey yell, and almost screamed as he realized what he had yelled. Mikey called for Sally!
Their little sister came into the room, and started to yell at Mikey for going into her room before he picked Jon up and handed him to her, still wriggling. She squealed, hugging Jon tightly to her chest. "You got it for me? The Living Doll? She's wiggling against me! It feels so funny! Thank you, Mikey!"
Jon barely had a chance to say anything due to the shock, and Sally couldn't hear him anyway until Mikey had left. At that point he realized how dumb yelling was. Sally was very picky, and very rough with toys she didn't like! The best option was to stay silent and play the part of the "Living Doll." She'd talked about it before to him, and he cursed himself now for not listening so he'd know what she expected of him.
"Come on, dolly! Walk!" Jon walked mechanically at her command, the way he imagined a doll might if it were made to. "You're so stiff... the commercials said you moved like a real person..."
Almost jumping, he started moving naturally, constantly glancing at the mirror and wondering at the impossibility of the situation. An hour later, after many simple commands, Sally had decided to look at her "pretty new wedding doll." Jon panicked, doubting that the "Living Doll" would look very much like him. He tried to run, but it was in vain, as she quickly grabbed him back and started stripping the dress and veil off.
