Mikey apparently wasn't back soon enough; Jon heard the front door open, and Dad walked in, just back from work. He walked up to Jon, smiling. "How's my little lady doing today?" Jon just stared up at him. Little lady? Dad didn't know he wasn't supposed to be like this? He wondered what was going on, but was quickly distracted by Dad kissing his finger and touching it to Jon's face. "Mom will be home soon, and she's bringing Sally with her. I bet you're so bored without your big sister."
Big sister? This was quickly becoming very weird. "What are you talking about?" He yelled up to Dad, to make sure he could hear. "I know this is very weird, Jon. But we have to just go with it until maybe someone can figure out how to reverse what happened to you. It's not every day someone's body gets reshaped into a Barbie doll." Mikey must have made another wish!
And at just that moment, Mikey came back downstairs. He grabbed Jon, getting a stern reprimand from Dad. "Be gentle with Jon. How would you like it if she grabbed you and threw you around?" She? Mikey started laughing, and loosened his grip, taking Jon upstairs. "How d'you like the wish? No one knows anything about what I can do." He smiled wickedly down at Jon, suddenly making him feel very, very small. His life was in Mikey's hands.
"Maybe when Sally comes home you two can have fun... until then, you're all mine." Mikey glanced over at Sally's pile of doll clothes - they'd gone into her room - and smiled, an idea already in his head. Jon saw it in his eyes, and shudered.
