Ryan, just outside of his door.

Ryan, just outside of his door, he had placed flowers on the door mat. As Ryan looked up he saw her covered in Jim's drying blood.
"Jesus Christ, are you ok?" Ryan said.
Leslie explained things and Ryan took her in and cleaned her up.
"You should call the police. I'll call for you. He can't get away with this. We should probably get you to the hospital for a checkup." Ryan showed genuine concern and protectiveness.
Leslie would have offered the same advice to a woman himself but as a woman with no real identity he needed to keep things quiet. "He won't be doing anything like that again." She pointed at the bloody clothes. She was now in Ryan's bathrobe. "And it would only be useful for them to check me out before I got cleaned up."
"I'm sorry I just...."
"You did the right thing. Thank you for making me feel safe here."
Across the hall they heard banging and yelling. "You fucked our boy up tonight bitch! We're getting revenge!"
Ryan started for the door. Leslie stopped him. "Don't they'll kill you."
Ryan walked over to the phone and called the police.
They heard the door to Leslie's apartment bashed in and a lot of yelling and laughing. After a few minutes they heard the cops arrive and take them away.
Waiting until they knew it was safe they went across the hall to check the damage.
The room was covered in piss and paint. Leslie's clothes were a pile of ash not revealing that they were men's clothes.
"I've lost almost everything." She said gathering what she could of her stuff, including a rolled up sleeping bag.
"Stay with me until things are sorted out."
"I can't do that I...."
"You said you feel safe there. I plan to keep you safe."
Leslie reluctantly agreed because she was tired.
"I'll sleep on the couch for a while not a big deal.", Ryan said.
"No, I'll stay on the couch. It is your apartment."
"No, with the bedroom you can lock the door and be sure that I am trustworthy. You've been through a lot. I don't want you to have a reason to doubt."
Leslie agreed after fighting it for a while but she was too tired to fight.
In the middle of the night she woke up. There was something comforting about the smell of Ryan's bed. She tried turning on the tv quietly with the remote to ease her nerves but it wasn't working.
