Mikey was stopped dead in his tracks, without the will to move after hearing his mother speak those words. Her exact words were:
"I do wish that you would give your sister more of a break. It is not easy for us women to be girly all of the time, I wish you had a chance to experience it, you might not be so willing to wish that onto others if you knew what it was like to dress very girly all of the time as you put it."
Things were starting to happen. He could feel himself slimming down and his bones re-shaping. What did that mean, "I wish you had a chance to experience it?" Mikey wasn't just becoming girly like Janet: he was flat-out becoming a girl!
Standing in her loose old boy clothes, Mikey raced to find Janet. They may have been against each other before, but now they both needed that rock, and maybe could help each other. She raced to see Janet, not even stopping to notice how she looked in the mirror. When Janet saw her new sister, she could only gawk.
