Stepping into the kitchen Judy said, "Mikey, I wish you would do what your sister says."
Mikey shook briefly before saying, "Okay Mom."
Janet had heard his mother's comment and knew that Mikey now needed to do what he said. He needed to figure out how to use that wish to get the rock from Mikey. 'Maybe I can just ask him to give it me, once he gets again.'
Mikey heard his mother's wish and knew that he now needed to do what Janet said. He needed to get the rock and then make some wish to counter his mother's wish or at least limit Janet's orders. 'At least he/she doesn't remember the rock.'
Janet wasn't (yet) really Mikey's sister, but was close. Therefore Mikey would only have a desire to do what Janet said, but he could fight it, the more it went against his nature the easier it would be for him to fight it.
Their mother noticed that Mikey was doing what his sister asked. 'If Janet would just dress a bit more pretty.'
While the two teenagers each plotting to get the rock from their mother and use it, their mother left the room and set the rock down on the hutch in the dinning room.
