The stone flashed again. Mikey became much more excited as he imagined plucking people's heads off and switching them around. He ran into the kitchen with stone in hand and found his parents, Linda and Mark Madison. Linda was cleaning up the kitchen while Mark looked through his briefcase on the table. Mikey had the mischievous idea of swapping their heads, he had walked up to his mother and asked if she wanted to hear a secret. Linda crouched down from the sink and turned her ear towards her son. Taking it as the perfect opportunity. He grabbed onto her head and tugged, but it didn't come off. Instead Linda Madison immediately jumped back up and fixed her hair.
"MIKEY! That was very rude, go to your...." Her voice was cut off as she paused in mid-sentence. Mark didn't respond to his wife freeze and continued with his paperwork.
Mikey was dumbfounded and grabbed the rock again. "I wish that..." Suddenly he too froze in place. Just in that instant both Mikey and Linda's heads popped off their bodies, much like dolls. They floated in mid air and then began to levitated towards the other's body. Mikey's small head then connected to Linda's neck, which merged and compensated for size. Linda's head now connected to Mikey's body and resized to fit as well.
Mikey, now on his mother's body placed a hand on his forehead. "You gave me a headache with that one Linda! And is that a rock in your hand!?" Mikey snatched the rock out of his former hand and placed it in her pocket. "I wish you would stop playing with rocks! They're filthy!"
Mikey had taken on the personality and body of his mother. Without realizing it the wish was granted and forbade Linda, who now believed she was a young child, from making any more wishes. Linda now pouted and begged for the stone back. She soon gave up however knowing that the wish wouldn't allow her to use it anyways.
The two of them were head swapped and couldn't even realize it. Mikey's wish was so vague the stone granted it in an odd way. Since he wished that people were like the dolls themselves getting head swapped it also made everyone affected forced to take on the roles their new bodies had. Since Mikey was included and he didn't wish himself to remember he was the first to get caught into this new reality. Now at random people's head swapped bodies as if they were dolls being played with by some non-tangible force.
"Your son is getting quite a mean streak!" Mikey said to Mark.
"Well he's young, he'll grow out of it." Mark said, not finding it strange a ten year old boy's head was perched on his wife's body.
Mikey went into the refrigerator and took out jars of peanut butter and grape jelly.
"Honey are you making Pb&J;'s for dinner again?" Mark disappointedly moaned.
"Oh sweetie, you know I'm not very good in the kitchen." Mikey replied as she got out the bread.
Mark simply sighed. As it seemed, a small portion of the person's original personality still resided with them after a swap. What other strange swaps could occur in this strange new reality...
