Julia's friends sometimes told her she reminded them of Willow from Buffy. Well, not only did she have red hair, she was also pretty smart. "You found the Medallion of Zulo?" she said. "I always wondered about that!"

"You've heard of it?" wondered Samantha.

"Of course I have, Sam. You know how the Internet is... you can find out about anything. But you know what, now that I read your note, I remember some of the theories about the Medallion."

"Well, don't just keep us in suspense! You've got to have something clever to tell us about it."

"Well, you see," said Julia. "If you wear some clothes that nobody ever wore before, the medallion transforms you to someone who fits the clothes, right? Like if a guy uses a dress he becomes a girl."

"Yeah, Julia."

"Well, how does that work? A dress doesn't just fit girls, you know. Why does the stone change someone who touches the dress into a girl? Why doesn't it change them into a guy crossdresser instead? You could even use a dress as, oh, part of a Halloween costume for a six year old, so why doesn't the Medallion change you into a six year old?"

"I never thought of that, but we don't need to know that. Let's try it!"

"I'm not finished! One idea is that the people who made the dress meant for it to be girl's clothes, so it counts as girls' clothes even if anyone can really wear it. The medallion changes you into who the clothes are meant to be for, not just who the clothes can fit."

At about this point Jane muttered to Sam, "Tell Julia to stop geeking out, okay? She listens to you."

"I want to hear this!" said Samantha.

Julia continued explaining. "Okay, suppose the medallion changes you into who the clothes are meant to be for. What happens if we make some clothes? Then we get to decide who they're for! We might not want to make a dress, but we could make a paper hat, or a wristband, or a gum wrapper necklace, or something else you wear."

"Wait a minute," said Jane. "You mean you can string together some beads and say 'I'm making a necklace that's only for Britney Spears', then you use the medallion and turn into her?"

"I don't know," said Julia. "I bet not everything counts. But you might be able to say 'this necklace is for blondes' or 'this necklace is for 6 foot tall guys' or 'this necklace is for leprechauns'. We have to experiment to find out if it works like that."

"Why would a necklace be for blondes? Anyone can wear it. It doesn't have anything to do with hair."

"Silly, because we say it is! Just like a dress is for girls because someone said it is. Does a dress have anything to do with what's between your legs?"

"Well," said Jane, "let's try out Julia's idea." She ran off to her room and came back with some paper, and a scissors and tape. She cut out a paper crown from the paper, taped it together and said "Any volunteers? This crown is supposed to be worn by...."
