Mikey stood uncertainly on his, that is, his mother's, feet.
"What have I done?" He asked out loud, startling himself with the sound of his/her voice.
Shaking his (mother's) head he couldn't help but marvel at how different he felt. He felt like a giant with the way things have gotten smaller in the familiar kitchen. His (mom's) hair felt weird being so long, and he was surprised to discover he was wearing earings, not to mention how freaky it was to have his chest stick out like that. He had to find a mirror.
Wobbling along on his mother's heels Mikey managed to make it to the large hall mirror by the front door. Staring back at him from its reflected surface was his rather surprised and awkward looking mother.
A smile slowly curved up and became a broad grin Mikey had never seen his mother flash. He started making faces, sticking out his tongue and adopting different poses. "Gee this is a great power I have," He heard his mother's voice say. "I can make her do anything."
Suddenly his Mother's face registered concern. "The rock! Ms. Warren's got it. I've got to get it back. But how?"
Then Mikey spied his mother's purse and set of keys next to it on the table beside the mirror. "I guess I'm a grown-up now and I can simply drive to school to get the rock back." Once again a big grin crossed Mikey's new face as the hand with the elegant fingers and glossy long nails picked up the purse and set of keys and Mikey teetered out the door.
