Making sure she couldn't be seen from the hole in the rooftop, Lucy continued listening to the conversation.
"Enough talking about that. You never know who could be listening."
"Right, right..." The woman continued, "When do you want me to set the Elemental loose?"
"In... let's say an hour after I arrive. It's an ill-tempered one, right?"
"Have you ever seen a Fire Elemental that ISN'T ill-tempered?"
"Ha... Right, so you know your part of the bargain."
The woman nodded. "In return for this treasure, me and the boys will lure this Lucy girl in with this golden key, and catch her alive to give to you. And in return for THAT treasure, we'll cause the best diversion we can manage while you do your thing in the castle."
The King of Rogues nodded. "That's about right. Now, I'd best be going. There's the key..."
Then the King muttered something and disappeared, the key clattering to the floor, just like before.
"So that's what the King of Rogues is up to..." Lucy looked down as the sorceress picked up the Key. "He knows who I am, and wants me alive. He's got some connection to the keys. He plans on stealing something dangerous from the castle. And that sorceress is planning on releasing a Fire Elemental on the city!"
