Mikey was starting to get scared.
The lawyers had packed him, his 'Plastic hippo' mother and poor Cartoon Carol off into a Dizzy Paddywagon and drove them off to a secret location. Then they packed them off into a dark cell and left them alone. Now, some two hours later, he was on the verge of tears.
Cartoon Carol was equaly distressed by her own situation. She was as facinated by her new, cartoon body as she was frightened by it. She'd taken off her clothes and inspected her body all over, finding most of the same things her old body had. The few things that were missing were distressing though. Her chest was now featureless and without even nipples, let alone breasts.
Mikey began to cry. Big tears rolled down him face as he quietly sobbed. Carol almost snapped that this was mostly his fault...untill she noticed her was holding the plastic statue that had once been his mother.
"Mikey? Um...everything's going to be ok. I'm sure we'll get out of this place."
Mikey sniffed and wiped tears away. "It wont matter. Look what they did to mommy. I'll never get her back."
"Have you tried?"
"Lots and lots of times...but she's still a plastic statue of a hippo, like from that 'Fantesa' cartoon."
"I think you mean 'Fantasia', Mikey. Have you been trying to make her human again?"
Mikey nodded and wailed "Yes! But it wont work!"
"Then...try finishing what was started. Wish her into...a cartoon hippopotamus like you were going to do to the lawyer."
Mikey sniffed and set the statue down. He squinted his eyes hard and the statue transformed into a full-sized, living and breathing animated Hippo!
The next few minutes were a chaotic mix of Mikeys mother panicing and knocking things over (though she soon found she was shockingly limber and agile...for a hippo), Mikey tearfully explaining what had happend and Carol filling in Mikeys many gaps. In the end his mother cuddled him close to her big, soft, fat body and sang him to sleep.
Carol was impressed with her control and asked "You don't seem to be too upset by your...our...transformations."
Mikey had dropped off to sleep so his mother (who I will name Ann unless anyone else has a better name in mind.) whispered "Mikes a sweet boy, and I know he's sorry for what he's done. I don't understand how he got this power, but I know he wouldn't hurt a fly. If I am trapped in this form...I'll forgive him."
"Speaking of which...I wonder how he did gain such powers?" Carol mused in her Minnie Mouse voice.
