"And did she?"
"Huh?" Michael Donaldson was brought out of his rememberance by the voice of the young woman cuddled up next to him in bed. "What?" he asked again.
"Did she ever ask you to change her again?"
Michael smiled. He had meet Connie a month ago at a pub off campus. They had hit it off and started dating. Tonight, they had decided to take their relationship to the next level, and afterwards began talking about their pasts. Michael wasn't sure why he had told her about when he had found that rock of his brother's ten years ago. There was just something about Connie that made him want to open up to her. "Karyn?" he asked. "A few times."
"Yeah," Connie said. "Like what?"
"Animals, mostly," he told her. "And there was that one time she asked me to make her a mannequin in a department store."
"Really?"
"Yeah," he nodded. "I was working there was a stocker. Karyn asked me if I would sneak her in one night and put her on display for the weekend. So, I did." A wicked smile came to his face at the memory. "I don't think she was real happy about it, though."
"Why not?"
His smile widened. "Probably because I stripped her down to her underwear and put her in the lingerie department. She really gave me a hard time about that one."
"I can see why," Connie told him, smacking him lightly on the chest. "So, do you still see her much?"
"Sure," he answered. "All the time. She's my sister-in-law, after all."
"Oh?"
"Yeah. Her and Jon got married last year."
"Did she ever tell anyone about what happened?"
"Maybe Jon," he replied, "but I would think that was it."
"And the other girl?" Connie asked. "Sarah. What happened to her?"
"We changed her back the next day. She tried to give us trouble at first, but Karyn had me turn her into a frog and told her if she ever bothered us again, it would be a permanent thing. Sarah never really came around us much after that."
"And the neighbor?"
"I changed her back. A month later, she moved away. Never saw her again."
Connie suddenly burst out laughing. "I'll tell you one thing, Michael Donaldson. You sure know how to tell a great story."
"What?" he asked her confused.
"Oh, come on," she said. "You don't expect me to believe that story, do you? A magic rock gives you the power to transform woman into dogs...and fountains...and a fire hydrant? Really, Mike. Give me a break."
"It's true. I swear."
"Sure it is."
"Okay," he told her, sitting up. "I'll prove it."
She looked at him suspiciously. "How?"
"I'll change you," he told her matter-of-factly.
"The hell you will!" she shouted.
"What?" he said with an evil glint in his eyes. "Now, you believe I can do it?"
"Of course not," she said.
"Then what are you worried about? If I'm lying, nothing will happen. Right?"
She eyed him carefully. She didn't believe a word of his story, of course. But he was up to something. That was for sure. "Okay, Mr. Wizard," she said after a minute, getting up from the bed. "Let's see this fabulous power of yours."
Mike looked her over with an appraising eye. She really was a beautiful young woman with a fantastic body. "So, what do you want me to turn you into?"
"You mean I get to pick?"
"Why not? It's your body, after all."
Connie thought about it for a few moments. "Okay," she finally nodded. "That'll work. Make me a..."
