As he moved around his yard, picking up his toys and stuff, Mikey thought more about what he had done to Mrs. Higgins. It had worked. His wish had come true. He had turned his neighbor into a poodle. He began to wonder what else he could turn women into.
Well, he thought, I did wish I could turn them into anything. Still, he couldn't help but wonder if that meant he could turn them into things besides animals. How about a tree? Or a rock? Or things like tables and chairs? Could he turn a woman into something that wasn't alive?
He decided that he would just have to try it to find out. Standing at the edge of his front yard, he looked around for someone to experiment on, but didn't see any girls or women anywhere. He thought about his mother, but really didn't want to do anything to her. And from the sounds coming over the fence next-door, it sounded like Pierre was still having fun playing with Mrs. Higgin, so he figured he would leave her a poodle for now. Still, he really wanted to try out his new powers.
So, he got real excited when Jon's friend Karyn came around the corner.
There was something different about Karyn that Mikey just couldn't figure out. The most obvious difference, of course, was how she was dressed. She normally just wore those baggy sweater. Today, she was wearing a tight t-shirt that showed off her impressive chest. Her long blonde hair was pulled back into a pony-tail. Other than that, it was the same ol' Karyn, but still Mikey felt that something was off about her.
As she came up the street, he wondered if he should really use his newfound abilities on her. She was Jon's best friend, after all. Why not? he finally decided. I can always change her back after I find out. And he really wanted to know if he could do it. So, he pointed at the approaching girl, and said, "Be a..."
