"... would shut up!"
Gina began to scream, but then her mouth closed. She doubled over and fell out of her chair.
"Gina!" said Ms. Warren, running up to the little brunette girl. Ms. Warren held Gina's head up so she could see it and gasped. So did Mikey, who was looking on from behind Ms. Warren.
Gina's mouth was not only closed, she didn't even have a mouth anymore! Her nostrils, eyes, and ears were also closing up. Her calves were bent against her thighs, with her feet bending further back against her body. The upper half of her body was bending down against the front of her thighs, with the head bending against the knees. The body parts were pressed against each other so tightly, the pressure cut through her clothes, even her shoes! But even before that happened, with his see-through eyes, Mikey could see that Gina was shutting up more than he'd wanted her to. Every orafice was closed, every space that could exist between limbs, torso, and head was either gone or vanishing. There was a flesh-covered rough oval shape on the floor, trembling in panic at what was happening.
Mikey was also near panic. He hadn't meant for this to happen to Gina. He wouldn't want this to happen to anyone! He thought hard and fast. What could he do? He could still remember what he had said. Indeed, it was reverberating in his brain in thundering echoes. I wish you would shut up! I wish you would shut up!
"... until I don't want you to anymore and then you'll be like nothing happened to you!" whispered Mikey, hoping it wasn't too late to finish his wish. He immediately followed with "I don't want you to be shut up anymore!"
Mikey didn't know who was more relieved to see what happened next, him or Ms. Warren. Didn't matter. Neither of them could feel better than Gina herself! As if they were watching a movie running backwards, Gina began to unbend. Her arms, legs, hands, feet, fingers, toes, and head all separate from the oval. Her eyes, ears, nostrils, and mouth, even her belly button, all came back! Soon, Gina was herself again, still trembling, but not sure what had happened. Then, she saw her clothes laying in tatters on the floor. Quickly, she grabbed them and held them against herself as best as she could.
"Boys, close your eyes!" said Ms. Warren in a voice that was NOT to be disobeyed!
As Ms. Warren ushered Gina out of the room to the girls restroom, Mikey had his head on the table, his eyes closed tight. That was awful!, he thought. He put the rock in his desk, vowing to never use it again.
Or at least, he didn't intend to ...
