"... that the police think everything's normal in here." There was no obvious effect, but Joannie hoped it worked.
"Hold it," said Karyn. "I figured out a way to help Max."
"Really?" said Joannie, and handed her the stone.
"I wish," said Karyn, "that Max would have a fantasy of being female Ranma, from Ranma 1/2, and would then turn into her. I also wish for a bucket of hot water."
Max's form shimmered again. She now appeared as a redheaded Asian teen wearing Chinese clothes. It was odd seeing the normally animated character as a living person.
"Hold on, Max!" said Karyn. Then Karyn tossed the hot water on Max, and Max turned into a boy.
"Now," said Karyn, "Max isn't a girl any more anyway, so I don't need to worry about reversing the girl wish. I wish Max would turn into his old self."
Max transformed, and the stone didn't try to twist the wish and make him a baby or an old man. "That's another one!" said Karyn. "Now there's just Dad and you. Hmm, what about using the shapeshifting trick again?"
"Okay. I wish Karyn's Dad would be able to shapeshift between his current form and completely male. You know, Karyn, this doesn't fix all of it. He's still horny for men."
"It's better than before. Now yourself."
"I still can't!" said Joannie. "I'd be a guy who's named Joannie and wears dresses and jewelry."
"Maybe there's something..." said Karyn.
But their conversation was interrupted by a loud crash. Joannie, Karyn, Max, and Sarah could hear someone yelling "You don't think that girl was lying, do you?" And the reply, "No, it seems like a perfectly normal kidnapping case to me. I know I saw a cage through the window."
