Janet got up as if nothing had happened.
Must be a coincidence, thought Sarah. Rocks can't awaken people.
Sarah felt awkward about having taken Janet's rock without asking her. "Uh ... Mrs. McMillan, I, um ..." She held out the rock to show the guilt that she was too embarrassed to put into words.
"That's OK, Sarah." Mrs. McMillan's words were almost robotic. "You may have the rock."
"Th-thanks. Are you all right? You just fainted a moment ago."
"I'm fine now. I'm always OK."
"No, it's just something that grants wishes."
"What!?"
"I'll be OK without it. I never need anything. I'm always OK."
"OK ... so can I have your car?" Turning Korean didn't turn Sarah into a saint.

"Can I have some money? I'm going to the mall."
Janet walked to her purse and took out a wad of twenty dollar bills. "OK."
OK, OK, OK, thought Sarah. Is that all she can say? Isn't that what I wished her to be? OK? Maybe this rock does work. Maybe I can ask her for her credit cards. No, why stop there? I've got a better idea.
