Jon gaped at the bookmark glued to the page, temporarily frozen in shock.
"Uh, Jon, what's wrong with your hair?"
Karyn's question brought to attention the odd tingling sensation on his scalp. Turning to a nearby mirror, he noticed a small patch of hair on his forehead growing longer.
A lock dangled on his forehead. He held it, watching it grow before his eyes. As it grew past his nose it began to lighten from the roots, first light brown, then then orange, then finally settling into a bright reed when it reached the tip. The rest of his hair soon began catching up.
Thinking quickly, he ran for the book, still open to the page the bookmark clung to, his hair growing longer all the while. As he saw who he was becoming, he tried desperately to yank the bookmark off the page. It didn't budge. It didn't even give. It was like trying to lift an anvil.
"Oh c'mon, Jon-boy, it can't be that ba-" She gasped when Jon turned, glaring and holding the book out to her. His head felt much heavier. His crimson red hair was now past his shoulders and showing no signs of slowing, and it was thicker as well as longer. The eyes that glared at Karyn were a bright blue, with slim crimson eyebrows and long lashes. The arm that held the book to her was white and soft and hairless.
Taking the book tentatively, Karyn glanced at the description on the page. It was difficult to read, since the text that wasn't obscured by the bookmark was gradually fading, but-
Karyn couldn't help it. She giggled. Then she sniggered. Then she burst out laughing.
"Stop it! it's not...not funny!" Jon cried in indignation, his voice cracking halfway through.
"Sorry but,(snigger)Jon, look at yourself!"
He did. His hair was now at his waist, but this was no longer the extent of the changes. His now very fair skin had a soft quality, and his arms and shoulders had lost all muscle tone. Not only that, but looking in the mirror, he realized he was now shorter than Karyn, and shrinking!
The tingling sensation had now spread lower. It wasn't particularly pleasant, but it did at least distract him from Karyn's laughter. But even this small benefit didn't console him as the intensity doubled, and the most dramatic changes began.
The upper part of his chest felt like thousands of needles were just barely touching it, and his pecs had begun to look (and feel) a bit...full. Sure enough, his pectorals exploded outward, and the sensation became all the more disturbing as it gained a cute pair of c-cup breasts
Now very light headed, he turned his gaze further south, his blue eyes falling where the tingling traveled. His waist shrank and shrank and shrank, even as his chest became as hairless as his arms. His thighs and buttocks expanded, gaining a rounded, soft appearance, and his legs lengthened dramatically in relation to his body size. Even his crotch wasn't spared, as he felt an odd inversion occuring between his shapely legs.
Finally, the sensation stopped, allowing Jon to take in what had happened to her. She just stared dumbly for a long time, her full lips parted slightly in surprise, as Karyn struggled to hold in her laughter.
"Shit!" She cried, finally. But it wasn't over yet. She felt her clothes begin to tighten around her, and fresh sniggering began issueing from Karyn. Her clothes changed into wizard's robes and waves of magic flowed through her
