Jon handed Karen the wishing stone, and held the mask in both hands. He looked into its eyes again, but didnt hear any voice this time. Jon flipped over the Mask and began to slowly bring it up to his face.
Karen waited with bated breath. Would the wish work? Was Jon about to unleash the most evil being the world had ever known? In either case, she decided, it would be best to give herself some protection. "I wish that if anything bad happens I will be instantly transported someplace safe," she said.
"That was a good idea Karen," said Jon. Jon then continued to slowly lift the mask to his face. He paused for a second, and wondered how a mask with no strings or elastic band was supposed to stay on your face. Then he continued to raise the mask to his face. For a moment he stopped and tried to figure out why he hadnt used the wishing rock for the past several months. He had a vague idea that it had something to do with a wish he had made a long time ago, but something was making his mind foggy.
"I wish you would just put it on already!" said Karen.
Jon slapped the mask onto his face. He let out blood-curdling scream and clawed desperatly at the mask. Then he fell limp and silent on the floor.
