"Betty, what's the matter with you?" Linda asked.
"Nothing. I'm, like, totally fine and junk."
"You're not making fun, are you. Did you get a concussion or something?"
"Con ... concu ... concussion? Oh, Linda, I wish you wouldn't use big words."
All of a sudden, Linda's mind felt sluggish. She didn't become an air-head like Betty and Bambi. But she had a hard time thinking of words, especially big and complicated ones. Why was she having so much trouble thinking?
"Okay, fine. I won't use big words."
"Good. They're too hard to pro ... pronounce them."
"Tell me about it." Linda's attention wandered for a few moments, then she said "What was I talking about? Oh, yeah. Now I remember. Betty, you're acting strange."
"I don't, like, feel strange."
"Well, you're talking weird. Like her," Linda pointed towards Bambi.
Bambi just smiled. Not even a thought in her head.
"What are you smiling about?" Linda asked her.
But before Bambi could answer, Karyn walked into the store.
"It's about time I found you. I've been looking all over for you."
